<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device for intake air control which can stably and securely retain the position of a valve body 10A even in a state of a stop of drive of an actuator at the operating end of a swirl control valve 10. <P>SOLUTION: The valve body 10A of the swirl control valve 10 has a swing-type valve constitution, and its outer shape is a rectangular shape having smooth four corners. Then the cross section of the valve body 10A is shaped like a wing reverse to the flow of the intake air, and a valve stem 22 is integrally formed with the rear edge 25 of a wing. Then the valve body 10A is supported by a bearing part 54 which crosses a main port 11 of an induction conduit 50. The valve stem 22 is connected to the actuator, and driven with oscillation in the open/close direction by energization. The energization is stopped at both of the operating ends, and the stopping position of the valve body 10A can be retained at all times by dynamic pressure at the time of full closing and by lift at the time of full opening by using an action force of the air-intake flow itself at its full opening/closing positions. Thus, the flapping or the open/close action of the valve body 10A can be prevented even when the valve body 10A receives wind pressure, pulse or vibration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
