PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that if a hard disk is provided, much costs may be required but if not, operations become complicated. SOLUTION: Even without providing a bulk storage in a scan box 10 itself, a scan application is executed by another client 50 connected to a network 30, such that read conditions or the like of a scanner 20 are read from a setting information area 41 of a file server 40 in response to a read starting operation from the scan box 10 and read data are transferred to an image area 42 of the file server 40 while controlling the scanner 20 by the scan application on the same conditions, thereby comfortably sharing the scanner 20 among a number of users in simple configuration of the scan box 10.
