PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating material for a floor excellent in recoating and an initial hardness and also excellent in water resistance, and to provide a floor coating method using the aqueous coating material for a floor. SOLUTION: The aqueous coating material for a floor is obtained by dispersing, in an aqueous medium, polyisocyanate (A) and an acrylic resin (B) that has a primary hydroxyl group and a secondary hydroxy group in a molar ratio of 60 mol% or preferably 60-80 mol% of the secondary hydroxy group, has a hydroxyl value of 50-120 mgKOH/g, preferably 60-100 mgKOH/g, and has a hydroxyl value of 20-40 mgKOH/g based on the primary hydroxyl group. According to the floor coating method, the aqueous coating material for floor is applied on a floor material on which a primer may be coated, and then dried.
