PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small vacuum carburizing furnace which does not require a large space in a transverse and longitudinal direction, increases the rigidity of its furnace body, reduces its weight, and reduces cost such as its production cost and its shipping cost. SOLUTION: A cooling chamber 2 comprises a member 70 having a vertically cylindrical shape, and an inlet rectangular member 72 connected in an inlet side of the cooling chamber so as to penetrate the cooling chamber 2. The inlet rectangular member 72 has an intermediate plate 74 and an inlet door 1 installed thereon. The cooling chamber 2 has an outlet rectangular member 73 connected to the opposed side of the inlet of the cooling chamber so as to penetrate the cooling chamber 2. The outlet rectangular member 73 has a cooling chamber outlet flange 33 installed thereon. A heating chamber 3 is made of a member 80 having a vertically cylindrical shape. A plate 60 is arranged in between the cooling chamber outlet flange 33 and the heating chamber 3. The plate 60 is connected to the cooling chamber outlet flange 33 and to the heating chamber inlet flange 6 to connect the cooling chamber 2 with the heat chamber 3. An intermediate door 4 capable of elevating is attached to the plate 60 which is connected to the cooling chamber outlet flange 33. An elevation driving means of the intermediate door 4 is driven by the engagement of external gears 14 and 15 which are arranged in the cooling chamber 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
