PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which shows a small Mullins effect and thus shows only a small reduction in the elastic modulus after a large deformation. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains at least a rubber component and an aromatic oligomer to which an ethylene oxide is added. The preferred amount of the aromatic oligomer contained is 2-60 pts.mass per 100 pts.mass rubber component. The aromatic oligomer preferably has a number average molecular weight of 100-2,000.
