摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit of a vehicle having an automatic transmission, the control unit which prevents the connection shock caused by connecting an internal combustion engine with a driving system in the state of high rotational speed of the engine, against the driver's intention for the start and acceleration. SOLUTION: When the selected position of a shift selecting device has been changed from any position requiring the disengagement of a frictional engagement element to any other position requiring the engagement of the frictional engagement element, and the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is higher than a first reference rotational speed, and it has been judged that the driver does not have the intention of the start of the vehicle, the engagement of the frictional engagement element is forbidden until the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine becomes lower than a second reference rotational speed set to be lower than the first reference rotational speed. The existence or absence of the driver's intention for the start of the vehicle is judged, for example, by utilizing as one of the criteria whether the opening of a throttle valve is nearly completely closed.
