<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus and an image display method which raise visibility and color reproducibility also under illumination when a personal computer input signal is displayed as an image by a projector. <P>SOLUTION: As to an RGB signal output from a re-sizing circuit 40, a 6-axes detecting part 56 detects RGBYCM of a color and a MIN detecting part 51 detects a minimum value of RGB, therefore, a white component is detected. Color processing for color emphasis is carried out by changing a subtraction amount of a subtraction part 52 from the results of these detecting parts. Following this, from the result of the 6-axes detecting part 56, a flesh color compensation part 55, which comprises a flesh color detecting part 53 for judging whether an input signal has a flesh color hue, and a flesh color compensation gain generating part 54 for determining a compensation amount depending on whether the hue is the flesh color containing the white component, and which processes the subtraction-processed and color-emphasized signal and an input signal to a color conversion circuit 50 by mixing operation, compensates the input signal to output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
