PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce load of an operator, to reduce damaged paper and to reduce a clearance adjustment time by automating a lead-in roller clearance adjustment mechanism. SOLUTION: The lead-in roller clearance adjustment mechanism 10 is provided with a pair of lead-in rollers 9A and 9B for guiding a web W with the clearance thereof, and a clearance adjustment mechanism for adjusting the amount of the clearance. This clearance adjustment device of the lead-in clearance adjustment mechanism is further provided with motors for driving the clearance adjustment mechanism, and a potentiometer for detecting the output positions of the motors, and is structured to automatically adjust the amount of the clearance. The clearance adjustment device is further provided with: an automatic paper-passing device for inputting paper thickness of the web, and controlling the motors to set the amount of the clearance to a predetermined value before paper passing of the lead-in roller part and to set the amount of the clearance to a value according to the input paper thickness of the web after the paper passing of the lead-in roller part; and an adjustment control device 30 of the clearance between the lead-in rollers.
