PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more effectively prevent breakage of a radiator 22 which cools cooling water by heat exchange with the ambient air in a cooling system 20 for cooling a motor 12 and an inverter 14 by using the cooling water. SOLUTION: In the cooling system, in case of starting driving control of an electric motor 31 upon the turn-on of an ignition switch 50, the driving control of the electric motor 31 is performed so that a target revolution speed becomes lower than a target revolution speed at the time of normal driving control until a difference between the temperature of the cooling water in the vicinity of the inverter 14 and the temperature of the cooling water within the radiator 22 becomes smaller than a predetermined temperature difference. It is thus possible to decrease the quantity of the cooling water forced to circulate in a circulation flow path 30 by a water pump 32 so as to decrease the quantity of the cooling water flowing into the radiator 22. Therefore, thermal stress generated in the radiator 22 can be reduced and the breakage of the radiator 22 can be prevented more effectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
