<p>The invention relates to a cable end connection for fastening a cable end in anelevator system and to a method for fastening a supporting cable in an elevatorsystem, whereby the supporting cable (6) is retained in a wedge compartment (11)by means of a wedge (12). The invention is characterized in that at least one wedgecompartment area (15, 16) facing the wedge (12) is provided with a surface roughnessdifferent from the remaining surface of the wedge compartment (11). Advantageously,a wedge compartment friction surface (15) which is closer to the loose strand(7) of the supporting cable (6) is provided with a surface roughness that is higherthan that of the remaining surface of the wedge compartment (11) or a wedge compartmentsliding surface (16) which is closer to the carrying strand (8) of the supportingcable (6) is provided with a reduced surface roughness as compared to the remainingsurface of the wedge compartment (11).</p> |
