SOLID ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

A solid electrolytic capacitor with low ESR and high capacity can be obtained by controlling the composition or thickness of a silver paste forming a multilayer structure on a positive electrode base having a carbon paste layer on the surface. By respectively coating the peripheral portion and the surface portion of the positive electrode base by using two silver pastes having different wettability to the carbon paste layer, a desired layer thickness can be attained as a whole. It is preferable for the solid electrolytic capacitor that the silver paste layer covering the peripheral portion of the positive electrode base is thicker than the silver paste layer covering the surface portion of the base. A silver paste having a water content of not more than 0.5% by mass is preferably used. Consequently, there can be obtained a solid electrolytic capacitor having a sufficiently low ESR (equivalent series resistance) and a high capacity per unit volume, since the solid electrolytic capacitor has a structure wherein a silver paste layer is arranged on a positive electrode base having a carbon paste layer on the surface.
