Provided is a communication device including, as its transmitting unit, an interleaver (11) for rearranging bit positions of an information frame, an FEC encoder (12) for correcting and encoding an error on the rearranged information frame, and a selector (14) for inserting an FEC parity into a predetermined position of the information frame thereby to generate a sending signal. The communication device includes, as its receiving unit, a selector (21) for extracting an information frame portion and an FEC parity portion from a receiving signal, an interleaver (22) for rearranging the information frame portion according to the same rule as that on the sending side, an FEC decoder (23) for correcting the error of the rearranged bit string on the basis of an error-correcting parity portion, and a de-interleaver (24) for restoring the error-corrected bit position thereby to reproduce the information frame.
