FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determination of free formaldehyde in vaccines, in part, in mixed vaccine against viral enteritis, botulism, pseudomonosis and plague in carnivore animals, vaccine against adenoviral enteritis in dogs, vaccine against plague, adenoviral infections and parvoviral enteritis in carnivore animals, vaccine against pseudomonosis in fur animals. Free formaldehyde is determined by polarography method at wavelength of reduction of Schiff's reagent which is formed in the presence of phenylhydrazine in phosphate buffer, pH 6.8-7.0. Recording of Schiff's reagent reduction polarograms is carried out at direct current differential regime. Method can be used also for analysis of formaldehyde in different technological solutions.
