PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of storing a magnetic disk glass substrate, packing the magnetic disk glass substrate on whose surface a texture is formed and delivering it to manufacturing facilities of the magnetic disk, unpacking it at the manufacturing facilities of the magnetic disk, capable of obtaining prescribed performance when manufacturing the magnetic disk, sufficiently narrowing the glide height of a magnetic head, and capable of manufacturing a magnetic disk having a magnetic layer provided with satisfactory magnetic anisotropy. SOLUTION: When the magnetic disk glass substrate having the texture on the surface thereof, together with its atmosphere, is housed in a housing container, the atmosphere is subjected to processing for removing at least an acid substance and/or an organic substance, and the magnetic disk glass substrate, together with the atmosphere, is housed in the housing container.
