<p>The process involves bringing an object to be measured into the tomograph where there is a homogenous magnetic field. The parameters of a measurement sequence are set. The measurement is carried out using the sequence and the signals detected by the receiver coils are processed. A circularly polarized transmission coil (6) is used having at least two separate transmission systems each generating a time oscillating linearly polarized magnetic field. The phase relationship between the fields is such that the resulting sum of the superimposed fields has a right circularly polarized component with maximum amplitude. A circularly polarized receiver coil is used comprising two separate reception systems to match the transmission coils. Independent claims also cover a nuclear resonance tomograph to carry out the method and a circularly polarized coil for use in the method.</p> |
