The invention relates to the contact welding, and especially to the electrical power circuits or control circuits, in particular, to the control of devices of welding machines. A control system of the machine of contact flash butt welding contains electrically connected together the programming unit, a control unit of duration of short circuit, an unit of measurement of the value of deposition and a signaling system, moreover to the output of the programming unit the inputs of the unit of determining the moment of the end of control of short circuits and control unit of the gradient of velocity of displacement of the components to be welded are connected. To the input of the unit of control of the duration of short circuits the output of the unit of determining the moment of the end of short circuits is connected, and to the input of the signaling system the output of the control unit of the gradient of velocity of displacement is connected, in which the electric coupling between the unit of programming and the control unit of the gradient of velocity of displacement of the components to be welded is made by programming on the micro-controller. Into the control system of the machine of contact flash butt welding a step-by-step motor is introduced, the input of control system of which is connected with the output of the control unit of the gradient of velocity of the displacement of the components to be welded, and the frequency output of micro-controller is connected with the input of control system of step-by-step motor. The functional possibilities of system are extended and quality of weld seam is increased.
