PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily mount a battery, and to prolong the lifetime of the battery without changing a frame structure or a shape of a bicycle. SOLUTION: A motor 11 is driven by the power supplied from a battery 21 built in a battery built-in wheel 12 of a rear wheel 3 constituting a power assisted bicycle 1, and the travel by the stepping force of a rider is assisted. When the charging level of the battery 21 is dropped below the predetermined value, the battery 21 of less charging level is taken outside from the battery built-in wheel 12, and re-charged or changed. When each battery is not taken out but charged, the power supplied from an external power supply via an adapter 25 is individually charged in a substantially full state to the battery 21 of less charging level, or individually charged to the charging level substantially equivalent to that of other batteries 21.
