PURPOSE: An advertising method and apparatus using an advertisement server and a screen server is provided to for a user to download a screen saver image and advertisement data from an advertisement server, and add a function for displaying the screen saver image and the advertisement data downloaded. CONSTITUTION: A user downloads a screen saver program(1-1). After that, the user installs the screen saver program(1-2). The user determines a sort of a screen saver image and an advertisement and a desired position(1-3). In case that the user determines the sort of the screen saver image and the advertisement and the desired position, the screen saver program records contents set by the user.
