PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiver of an optical pickup that is built by sequentially stacking a photodetector, a flexible wiring board, and a metal plate, yet firmly secure the metal plate to the photodetector. SOLUTION: It has a photodetector 4 connected on the flexible wiring board 6 with its laser light receiving face up, and a metal plate 7 fixed on the backside of the flexible wiring board 6 with respect to the photodetector 4 at the position where the photodetector 4 is mounted. Through holes 8, 9 are formed on the flexible wiring board 6 and the metal plate 7 from the side of the metal plate 7 to the photodetector 4, and an adhesive 10 is filled in the through holes 8, 9 of the flexible wiring board and the metal plate to directly adhere the metal plate 7 and the photodetector 4.
