Display device has several display panels (10-1,10-2) and the segments (12-1-1,12-2-1,12-3-1) of the display panels exhibit different number of illuminants (18) or illuminants with different light intensities. The segments of display panel are controllable during the cyclic duration of the associated display panel with different duty cycle. An independent claim is included for the method of control for display device.
