METHOD OF AND MACHINE FOR REMOVAL OF DAMAGED SECTIONS OF RAILS

FIELD: railway transport; track machinery. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of removal of damaged sections of rails and to machine for preparing rails for welding. According to proposed method of removal of large number of damaged sections of rails, after first separation cutting, both ends of rail are gripped by rail-pulling device and are pulled to each other. Pulling force required for this purpose and actual temperature of rail are recorded to calculate length of replacement rail to provide preset stress of rail. Second separating cut is made at a distance from first separating cut calculated basing on chosen length of replacement rail. Machine for preparing rails for welding includes rail storing device and crane boom moved in height and rotated by drives to grip and unloaded the replacement rail. Rail-cutting saw moved in height is installed for displacement along guide passing in longitudinal direction of machine. Rail-pulling device is installed for displacement in machine frame by means of drives with two pairs of rail calipers installed at a distance from each other and made for gripping and pulling ends of rails to each other. Pair of lifting posts arranged close to one of rail truck is secured on machine from and designed for lifting adjacent rail truck from track. Machine set with machine for preparing rails for welding is furnished with second machine with device for loosening track anchors owing to self-propelled drive. ^ EFFECT: provision of effective welding of great number of joints to obtain preset stress of rails. ^ 12 cl, 15 dwg
