PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display apparatus that can solve electric field unevenness between a scan electrode and a sustain electrode, reduce variation in fluorescent material recovery characteristic, and further lower the maximum level of a sustain voltage, and a method of driving the same. SOLUTION: The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including a first electrode and a second electrode, a first electrode driver, and a second electrode driver. The first electrode driver supplies a first sustain pulse of a first polarity to the first electrode at a first supply time point. The second electrode driver supplies a second sustain pulse of a second polarity, which overlaps the first sustain pulse, to the second electrode at a second supply time point. Consequently, the plasma display panel is driven with a low voltage by supplying a positive sustain pulse and a negative sustain pulse so as to overlap them. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
