TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION BAND WIDTH SETTING METHOD, MOBILE TERMINAL, AND BASE STATION IN RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM DEFINING A PLURALITY OF SIGNAL BAND WIDTHS

A radio communication system defining a plurality of band widths includes mobile terminals corresponding to each of the band widths and sets the smallest transmission band width as a transmission band width of downlink common channel among the band widths. Alternatively, all the mobile terminals contained in the radio communication system have a processing ability of a band width of a predetermined value or above and two or more transmission band widths below the predetermined value are set as the downlink common channel transmission band width. In the latter case, the mobile terminal identifies the band width of the received downlink common channel.
