<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser welding method which enhances the weld strength of two members constituted of a thermoplastic resin material at the time of welding and reduces the irregularity of the weld strength, and a laser welding apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The laser welding apparatus 1 of thermoplastic resin members is constituted so as to bring a first member 2 constituted of a laser beam transmitting thermoplastic resin and a second member 3 constituted of a laser beam absorbing thermoplastic resin into contact with each other and melting the contact surfaces 4 of the first and second members with a laser beam to weld both members and comprises a laser beam emitting device 10 for emitting the laser beam from the side of the first member to melt at least one of the contact surfaces of the first and second members, a clamp mechanism 20 for mutually pressing the first and second members, a temperature sensor 31 as an adjusting means for adjusting the pressing force of the first and second members, and a personal computer 32 for calculating the pressing force on the basis of the output of the temperature sensor to control the clamp mechanism by the calculated pressing force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
