PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-melting-point 2,3-dibromopropyl compound useful as a flame retardant for synthetic resins. SOLUTION: A poor solvent for the 2,3-dibromopropyl compound is added to an amorphous substance of the 2,3-dibromopropyl compound to form a mixture. The poor solvent can then be evaporated from the resultant mixture to thereby efficiently obtain a high-melting-point substance of the 2,3-dibromopropyl compound. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
