The syringe has an adjustable syringe stopper (4) that is provided in a syringe cylinder (5) with a stick-in injection needle (6). The syringe cylinder has a sphere housing (3) behind the syringe stopper. The sphere housing is provided with a coaxially movable pressure pin (2) and an axially movable sphere (1) that is movable axially to the syringe stopper by the pressure pin. The axially movable sphere is provided in solid, gaseous or liquid form. An independent claim is also included for a method for pressing out an active ingredient from a syringe cylinder by using an axially movable syringe stopper.
