PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method, by which a web transferred at a high speed is coated uniformly with a coating liquid having a low viscosity. SOLUTION: According to the coating method, a wire bar 12 of a wire bar coating apparatus 10 is rotated in the transfer direction of the web 16, and the ratio of the revolution peripheral speed V<SB>b</SB>of the wire bar 12 to the transfer speed V<SB>w</SB>of the web 16 is determined to be 0.1 or more to 0.8 or less, or preferably to be 0.35 or more to 0.6 or less.
