The properties of a piezoelectric actuator (10) are conclusively determined by the polarisation thereof. During the polarisation of said piezoelectric actuator (10) which is embodied in a multilayer form, tension forces producing cracks are generated in areas where electrodes (12) pass into inactive layers. A first high-temperature polarisation makes enables the piezoelectric actuator (10) to produce a free of cracks polarisation. Afterwards, the piezoelectric actuator (10) is cooled, characterised and repolarised at a temperature lower than the first polarisation temperature. |
