PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground type LNG tank having strength, toughness, and cold service thermal insulation, which is light and composed of materials which are easy to construct with, characterized in its secondary barrier layer. SOLUTION: This ground type LNG tank has at least an inner tank and an outer tank, and a gap between the inner tank and the outer tank is filled with a heat insulating material. In addition, the secondary barrier layer is provided between the inner tank and the outer tank, and the secondary barrier layer is composed of a resin barrier material. An upper end of the secondary barrier layer is joined with an anchor part provided to the outer tank via an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is pressed by a bolt via a pressing metallic plate 52 from the inner side of the secondary barrier layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
