The invention relates to a breathable, body-adaptable absorbent article for incontinent adults or infants, essentially consisting of: an inner nonwoven fabric layer (1) which is in contact with the skin and partially covered on both sides by lateral anti-leak barriers (2); an impermeable layer (3) of plastic material; and an absorbent core (4) between said two layers, having an absorption/diffusion layer (5) provided thereon. According to the invention, the lateral anti-leak barriers (2) extend such as to overshoot the impermeable layer (3) by means of lateral extensions (6-6') of the same material, replacing part of the impermeable layer, and closure means (7) are used to secure and adjust the article when applied to the user's body. |
