The invention relates to a composite core for building panels and to a process for producing the same. The composite core, formed as a mat by pressing from wooden fragments or particles and used for producing a composite building element, has a first contact area (33a, 33b, 33c) of a first thickness, which extends in a first plane, a second contact area (33d, 33e, 33f) located in a second plane, separated from the first plane and parallel to it, and two inclined areas (34) having a second thickness, the inclined areas being located between them and continuing with the outer areas (33a, 33b, 33c, 33d, 33e, 33f) the thickness of the outer areas being smaller than the thickness of the inclined areas (34). |
