Disclosed are compounds of formula I wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification, or a tautomer, prodrug, solvate, or salt thereof; pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, and methods of modulating the glucocorticoid receptor function and methods of treating disease-states or conditions mediated by the glucocorticoid receptor function (such as type II diabetes) or characterised by inflammatory, allergic, or proliferative processes (such as lung diseases) in a non-human mammalian subject using these compounds.
