PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-in-water type emulsion stable and biocompatible, avoiding developing problems such as skin irritancy and allergic reaction, and particularly useful in cosmetic compositions. SOLUTION: The stable oil-in-water type emulsion for use in cosmetic compositions comprises an aqueous phase and an oily phase containing, as emulsifier, a combination of dimethicone polyol with a polysaccharide, e.g. an amino-polycarboxylate starch derivative.
