A cosmetic oil-in-water emulsion comprises 0.3-3 wt.% 1,2-hexanediol, and 1.5-6 wt.% oil-in-water emulsifiers. An independent claim is included for a method for producing a cosmetic oil-in-water emulsion, comprising adding 1,2-hexanediol to an aqueous phase of the emulsion prior to heating, and adding 1,2-hexanediol after heating during a cooling process to a developing emulsion at 30-40[deg]C.
