PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically transparent styrenic thermoplastic resin for an optical component with excellent light resistance, a small water absorption ratio and excellent adhesion property with a UV ray curable resin, and a resin composition. SOLUTION: The styrenic thermoplastic resin and the styrenic thermoplastic resin composition have a saturation water absorption ratio of 0.6 wt.% or less and a dimension variation ratio at saturation water absorption of 0.07% or less.
