PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication equipment along with an image forming apparatus, capable of optimizing a used carrier frequency for improved communication stability and suppressed radiation noises, and also capable of significantly reducing connection bundle in electronic devices. SOLUTION: The communication equipment in an electronic device communicates with load modules by superposing carrier waves on the power line. It comprises a means for detecting transmission path characteristics between modules by transmitting/receiving the sine wave signal set with specified frequency range and amplitude, using a communication means provided to a main control module and the load modules.
