PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap fastener relatively facilitating the detachment from a prescribed direction while retaining a high connecting force and separation resistance between a male snap fastener and a female snap fastener. SOLUTION: The female snap fastener 2 of this snap fastener has a spring ring 21 and a ring storage part 22, a part of the ring storage part 22 has a low upper part 23 formed by lowering the height of its upper part 22a, and an inner space part of the ring storage part 22 corresponding to the low upper part 23 is defined as a narrow space part (s) being narrow in the vertical direction. The spring ring 21 is pushed and fixed in the narrow space part (s) between the low upper part 23 and the ring storage part bottom part 22c. The low upper part 23 is provided in the nearest position from a part (a pulling part) of a fabric piece (t') being grabbed when the snap fastener is detached in the whole circumference of the ring storage part 22.
