PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma ray detector module for portal application. SOLUTION: This gamma ray detector module includes a housing provided with a box-like container 12, and a cover 14 for sealing air-tightly a pair of cylinders 24 in the housing. The each cylinder is provided with a scintillation substance 30, and a photomultiplier 32 on a common cylindrical shaft. The module sealed air-tightly is used singly or as the plurality of modules, in the portal application, and the gamma ray from a radiation source is detected thereby through the gamma ray transmission cover on the module.
