PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposer capable of reducing bad smell to be discharged from a main body. SOLUTION: The garbage disposer is provided with: a garbage housing part 4; a heating means 9 for heating the garbage in the garbage housing part 4; a temperature detecting means 7 for detecting the temperature in the garbage housing part 4; a discharge means for discharging steam containing the bad smell to be generated from the heated garbage from the garbage housing part 4 and deodorizing the discharged steam; a smell detecting means arranged on the discharge side of the discharge means; and a control means. The control means heats the garbage in the garbage housing part 4 while controlling the heating means 9 according to the information from the temperature detecting means 7. The control means controls the heating means 9 according to the output of the smell detecting means and varies the amount of the steam containing the bad smell to be generated in the garbage housing part 4.
