PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of effectively preventing front and rear flap parts from bending at longitudinal ends of an absorber. SOLUTION: The vertically long absorbent article 1 comprises a front surface sheet 20, a rear surface sheet 30, and the absorber 4 disposed between the sheets. The bending rigidity in the longitudinal direction LD is larger than the bending rigidity in the width direction WD in a flap rigidity area 60 of at least either the front flap part 55 or rear flap part 56 of the absorbent article 1.
