PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire tread having excellent abrasion resistance under a highly severe abrasion condition and a moderate abrasion condition while keeping low heat-generation and chipping resistance of the rubber. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire tread having a Mooney viscosity (MS<SB>1+4</SB>/130°C) of 45-70 is composed of a rubber component containing 5-40 wt.% butadiene rubber having a toluene solution viscosity of 110-150 cps and a molecular weight distribution of 3.0-3.4.
