<p>Disclosed is a luminescent composition suitable for a light-emitting layer which is capable of emitting light with high luminance. Also disclosed is a light-emitting device which is capable of emitting light with high luminance. Specifically disclosed is a luminescent composition characterized by containing a polyvinylcarbazole, a dialkylfluorene-oxadiazole-pylene structure with an alkyl group having 1-15 carbon atoms, and a dicarbazole compound having an aromatic group wherein a nitrogen atom may be substituted with an alkyl group. Also specifically disclosed is a light-emitting device wherein the luminescent composition is used for a light-emitting layer which is interposed between electrodes.</p>
