PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-cathode electrode which is easily jointed coaxially with a lead member of a lead-in wire and capable of achieving a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp with low power consumption, high luminance and long lifetime, without providing an emitter layer. SOLUTION: An electrode 41 is an electrode enclosed respectively at both ends 2a of a glass tube 2 of a cold cathode fluorescent lamp 1 and is provided with a coil 42 and a seating 43. The coil 42 is formed by winding a pure tungsten wire brought into close contact around a center of a winding axisαwith a fixed radius. The seating 43 is provided with a bottom 431 and a outer cylinder 432. The bottom 431 is arranged in a direction crossing the winding axisα. The outer cylinder 432 extends in a cylindrical shape around a center of the winding axisα, starting from the bottom 431, and fits externally to one or more turns of the coil 42.
