PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylbenzene hydroperoxide, which comprises oxidizing an alkylbenzene as a starting raw material with an oxygen-containing gas, and has an effect excellent in economy on industrial production. SOLUTION: This method for producing the alkylbenzene hydroperoxide is characterized by cooling an exhaust gas exhausted from an oxidation reactor to separate a liquid from a gas, and supplying the separated oil phase and water phase into the oxidation reactor in an identical flow route. The alkylbenzene includes ethylbenzene, isopropylbenzene, sec-butylbenzene, isopropylmethylbenzene and diisopropylbenzene. The alkylbenzene used as the starting raw material may be a fresh alkylbenzene not supplied for an oxidation reaction or an unreacted alkylbenzene recovered from a solution containing the alkylbenzene hydroperoxide.
