An image pickup apparatus includes: an image pickup unit adapted to shoot an object; an image processing unit adapted to execute image processing to an image data obtained from the image pickup unit to obtain an processed image data; a recording unit adapted to record both the image data obtained from the image pickup unit and the processed image data as related image data; and a display control unit adapted to control to display the processed image data recorded by the recording unit on a display unit, and to control not to display on the display unit the image data related to the processed image data.
