<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide height information by using a plurality of tags different in a communication distance. <P>SOLUTION: This container management system has a reading-writing part 21 having the same positional information in the horizontal direction, arranging the plurality of tags 31 different in the communication distance in a storage 3 of a container 1, installing a tag 11 having identification information on the container 1 in the container 1 and reading and writing information on the tags 31 by radio transmission installed in a movable part for vertically moving the container 1 of a carrying means 2 for carrying the container 1, and a management means for managing the identification information by being associated to the positional information on the container of an inlet-outlet object read by the reading-writing part by performing inlet-outlet operation of the container 1 by a trigger.
