PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control input system capable of performing selection of each of a plurality of images displayed on a display apparatus and an operation instruction applied to a selected image in parallel at the same time when each image in the images displayed on the display apparatus is operated. SOLUTION: In the remote control input system provided with the display apparatus for displaying one or more images and a remote controller 5 for instructing a region and an operation applied to the images on the display apparatus, the display apparatus includes: an instruction position detection section 8 for detecting a position as a result of the region instruction by the remote controller; an image selection section 10 for selecting one image, based on the detected positional information; a key discrimination section 7 for discriminating the operation instructed by the remote controller 5; and a control section 9 for controlling the display apparatus on the basis of the image selection information from the image selection section 10 and the operation key information from the key discrimination section 7. Further, the image selection section 10 uses a storage device 11 including a table for denoting the cross-reference between the region instructed by the remote controller and the image to be selected to output image selection information.
