PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve enhancing the substantial reception characteristic of the SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) reception system while reducing the respective computing complexity of the SVD reception system and the MLD (Maximum Likelihood Detection) reception system by combining the MLD reception system with the SVD - MIMO communication system. SOLUTION: A transmitter multiplies a lower triangular matrix L<SB>0</SB>obtained by applying LU decomposition to a matrix UD with a transmission signal to correct a substantial transmission weight matrix V. A received signal y is a product of multiplying the lower triangular matrix L<SB>0</SB>wherein elements upper than diagonal elements are all zero with the transmission signal y, and since reception sequences invariably include a sequence comprising only one transmission sequence, first a reception signal sequence y<SB>1</SB>not including a crosstalk component is received by the MLD reception system, and succeeding reception signal sequences y<SB>k</SB>are received by the MLD reception system after all crosstalk components having been already subjected to likelihood decision are cancelled from the succeeding reception signal sequences y<SB>k</SB>.
