PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus which relieves a load imposed on a user by controlling a display apparatus and a main body apparatus with a simple configuration using a remote controller of the display apparatus without changing the configuration of the display apparatus. SOLUTION: The image output apparatus includes: an AV mouse 14 connected to the main body apparatus via a cable 14a; a light receiving section 12 for receiving an infrared ray control signal emitted from the remote controller 21 of a television receiver 20; a control section 2 that discriminates whether the control signal received by the light receiving section 12 is a control signal used for the processing performed by the television receiver 20 or a control signal used for the processing performed by the main body apparatus; and a control signal output section 13 that allows the AV mouse 14 to emit and output the received control signal when the control section 2 discriminates that the control signal received this time is the control signal used for the processing performed by the television receiver 20.
