PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented film having excellent appearance because of slight coating defects by lowering a film temperature when applying a coating liquid to a film. SOLUTION: The method for producing the biaxially oriented polyester film comprises applying a coating liquid to a film having≤65°C film temperature and≤1,000μm film thickness by an inline coating method and then stretching the film by a simultaneously biaxially stretching method.
